Accounting Supervisor

The Accounting Supervisor is a key role within the Hecla Nevada finance group. The job gives a broad exposure to all of Hecla Nevada's business activities. The primary function of the position is to manage all external financial and internal management financial reporting within the company's internal control requirements. In addition to financial reporting, the position directly supervises two Senior Accountants, and indirectly supervises the Accounts Payable department.
Manage the financial close process to meet established reporting timeline.
Manage day-to-day General Ledger activities
Provide financial analysis to Operational Controller and other members of management as needed
Coordinate information requests and schedules with internal and external auditors
Work with the Finance team to design processes and procedures as needed
Assist with financial statement preparation (including footnotes)
Ensure adherence to SOX controls and the company's internal control policy
Produces monthly cost reports and participates in operations cost reviews with management
Interact with Department Heads, Supervisors, Corporate staff and Accounting staff as required
Assists in developing various Accounting Policies and Guidelines for Hecla Nevada.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
Periodic visits to the Winnemucca office and mine sites.
Manage two direct accounting staff.
Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and CPA preferred
5 or more years of accounting experience, mining industry experience a plus; however, not required
Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and technical accounting skills
IFS or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) software experience a plus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
